Operation Shield: From J&K to Gujarat, air raid to drone attack simulations, mock rescue ops held weeks after India-Pak ‘ceasefire’

The exercises were held across Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, and Chandigarh – regions closest to the border and most susceptible to cross-border threats.

As per the instructions of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), a civil defence exercise called 'Operation Shield' was conducted today in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana and Chandigarh. During the mock drill, the situation of enemy aircraft, drones and missile attacks was shown. Along with this, air attack warning sirens were also run.

A controlled blackout of 15 minutes will be observed from 8 p.m. to 8.15 p.m. near vital installations, with exception of essential emergency services such as hospitals, fire stations, and police stations
