Only one candidate qualifies for Statesboro District 2 seat ahead of Thursday deadline

With only one day of qualifying remaining, Kathleen Keehner is currently the sole candidate for Statesboro’s District 2 special election.

Keehner only City Council District 2 candidate so far; qualifying ends Thursday

One person, Kathleen Keehner, qualified Wednesday as a candidate for the vacant District 2 seat on Statesboro City Council in the Nov. 3 special election. The three-day window for candidate qualifying had opened Tuesday, Aug. 18, and the final opportunity to qualify will be 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 20.
