The Rehabilitation Department of the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced today that it has treated around 20,000 wounded soldiers since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023, over half of whom had mental health problems.
As the situation of anxiety and fear increased among Israelis from the future, the Department of Rehabilitation of the Israeli Ministry of Defence revealed that some 20,000 Israeli soldiers who had been injured in the war in the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023, the majority of whom were suffering from psychological health problems. The Defense Ministry's rehabilitation department is currently treating a record 81,700 wounded, including 31,000 mentally ill. But the acute shortage of manpower - one worker for every 750 wounded - casts doubt on its ability to respond in the coming years.
