Oil Spill Traced To Vessel Docked in Newport Harbor

An oil spill off Newport Beach has been traced back to a vessel docked at Newport Harbor, authorities said Sunday. Oil spill in Newport Harbor is under investigation

Authorities on Sunday, Aug. 3, were investigating an oil spill in Newport Harbor that was traced to a 40-foot boat. Orange County Sheriff’s Lt. David Murphy said there were reports of an odor coming from the harbor on Saturday night, and then on Sunday, a sheen could be seen on the ocean’s surface.
