Officials tackle overdue audits as Holyoke seeks financial stability

HOLYOKE — As Holyoke prepares its next budget, Mayor Joshua Garcia said the city is making progress on long‑delayed audits, part of an effort to correct decades of financial disorganization.Garcia said budget planning and audit work are both moving forward. Since January, city officials have been reviewing department requests, updating revenue projections and working with state officials and outside auditors.
