- On Wednesday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez shared a The Argument/Verasight poll showing her at 51% versus Vice President JD Vance at 49% in a hypothetical 2028 matchup and reposted the result on X with the caption `Bloop!` as she left the U.S. Capitol.
- The Argument/Verasight survey of 1,521 registered voters between Dec. 5 and Dec. 11 shows Ocasio-Cortez leading Vance 51%-49%, within the ±2.7% margin of error, with strong support among Black and Hispanic voters.
- Asked by Migrant Insider's Pablo Manríquez as she left the U.S. Capitol, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez laughed and said `Listen, these polls, like, three years out, they are what they are.` and added `But let the record show: I would stomp him.`
- With no formal declarations, neither Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez nor Vice President JD Vance has announced a 2028 bid, but the survey could boost her national viability and influence 2028 positioning for both parties.
- The survey also found crossover support, noting 8% of voters who supported President Donald Trump in 2024 would back Ocasio-Cortez, despite youthful strength, early polls show Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris leading.
