NYU Langone Health Names Alec C. Kimmelman, MD, PhD as Next CEO and Dean

On March 31, 2025, NYU Langone Health announced the appointment of Alec C. Kimmelman, MD, PhD, as its next Chief Executive Officer and Dean of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, effective September 1, succeeding the retiring Robert I. Grossman, MD.

Dr. Kimmelman's appointment comes as NYU Langone experiences significant expansion, including $14.2 billion in annual revenues, the addition of a new hospital in Suffolk County, plans for a comprehensive outpatient location in West Palm Beach, Florida, and consistent recognition as a top-ranked health system by Vizient, Inc. And U.S. News & World Report, ranking No. 1 among 115 comprehensive academic medical centers for the third consecutive year.
