NYSE Owner ICE Teams up with Trade.xyz to Bring Hyperliquid Trading to the US
The companies plan 24/7 contracts on stocks, commodities and crypto, while Trade.xyz says its existing Hyperliquid markets have topped $650 billion in volume.
On Thursday, Intercontinental Exchange and Trade.xyz announced a partnership to develop a regulated U.S. market for 24/7 perpetual futures using Hyperliquid infrastructure, subject to Commodity Futures Trading Commission approval.
While perpetual futures are heavily traded offshore, they remain largely inaccessible to American investors. This initiative bridges that gap by integrating know-your-customer checks and anti-money laundering controls into a compliant domestic framework.
Trade.xyz reported over $650 billion in cumulative trading volume on its existing Hyperliquid platform over the past year. Billionaire investor Stan Druckenmiller joined the funding initiative, though financial terms remain undisclosed.
Following the announcement, the native HYPE token rose 3.6% to around $85. Trade.xyz confirmed that its existing offshore HIP-3 operations will continue independently while the team works with regulators on the new infrastructure.
A separate proposal by Kraken parent Payward seeks to offer U.S. perpetual futures via CFTC-regulated Bitnomial. Neither project has confirmed a launch timeline or identified the specific registered entity that would operate the new market.
NYSE owner ICE and Trade.xyz are planning to establish a perpetual futures market in the US via Hyperliquid, subject to CFTC approval. HYPE rose 7.7% in 24 hours.
