Northwest Territories – An independent investigation has found the Northwest Territories government was slow to act on the detection of lead in the drinking water in schools. The independent investigation claims two of the government’s departments failed to understand the situation’s health implications. In May, it was discovered two schools in Yellowknife had lead levels in their drinking water that exceeded standards. CBC News report
