Spectators Airlifted to Hospital After Maypole Collapses During Erection

A Maypole collapsed on a crowd during erection in Rheurdt, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Thursday, injuring five spectators.
The incident happened as members of a nearby rural fraternity were in the process of raising the Maypole for traditional May Day celebrations.
Among the injured, two sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to hospital, while three others with minor injuries used ambulances.
