Emergency colonies were created mainly in the 1920s and 1930s as temporary housing for the poor. There are about ten of them in Brno, another ten have already disappeared, describes builder Jan Blaha, who focused on these colonies. "My friend and I wanted to explore them because there is a lot of confusion around them," he says. One of the colonies - the Stone Colony in Brno - is celebrating its centenary this year.
