The Northern Department (59) has been in a state of drought since 19 June and is facing a "rapid deterioration of the hydrological and meteorological situation." The risks of "stress on drinking water supply are now high," says the Prefecture.


The department has been on a drought alert since 19 June. Faced with "the rapid deterioration of the hydrological and meteorological situation", the prefect calls on individuals and companies "to adopt responsible and economical behaviors".
The Prefect of Aude, Christian Pouget, decided on Thursday 26 June to tighten the restrictions on the use of Aude in the eastern part of the department.
