North Korea fires flurry of ballistic missiles in first test for months

North Korea fired multiple types of short-range ballistic missiles Thursday, South Korea's military said, in its first tests since March.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the launch occurred from the port city of Wonsan on North Korea's eastern coast between 8:10 and 9:20 a.m. (12:10 a.m. - 1:20 a.m. in Poland). One of the missiles flew about 800 km before falling into the Sea of Japan. It did not specify how many missiles were recorded.

North Korea has fired several types of short-range ballistic missiles into the Sea of Japan. It is not known exactly how many missiles there were and what the tests were for, but experts suspect that similar weapons are being made for export. It is possible that they will soon reach Russia.
