Drake Powell Leaving North Carolina To Declare 2025 NBA Draft
Drake Powell is leaving North Carolina to enter the 2025 NBA draft. Powell is considered one of the best perimeter defenders in the draft class. Powell averaged 7.4 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 37.9 percent on three-pointers in 25.6 minutes in his freshman season at North Carolina. Powell was a McDonalds All-American and at one point was a projected top-10 pick. Powell is now considered a fringe first round pick.

North Carolina freshman Drake Powell has decided to declare for the 2025 NBA draft, he tells Jonathan Givony of ESPN (Twitter link). Powell has the option of testing the draft waters while maintaining his NCAA eligibility and then withdrawing from the process next month in order to return to school.
