(Update) Motion to increase next mayor’s remuneration withdrawn

By Richard Coffin (Update) It was announced during council’s meeting on June 2, the councillor motion to increase the next mayor’s remuneration to $115,000 was withdrawn.  It would have represented a 35% increase in the annual allowance.  During the same meeting, Councillor Gary Gardiner gave notice that he’ll be bringing forward a motion to have staff examine remuneration across northern municipalities for both mayor and councillor positions.De…
