The A2 between Echt and Weert will be closed this weekend at a length of 25 kilometers towards the north. This is the beginning of a long series of major roadblocks in Limburg this year.

Rijkswaterstaat is urging road users not to deviate from the diversion route this coming weekend during congestion caused by roadworks on the A2 motorway. "Do not drive through local roads or rely on navigation," says a spokeswoman. Several surrounding municipalities experienced significant disruption from shortcut traffic over the past weekends because the A2 towards Utrecht was closed between the Everdingen and Oudenrijn interchanges.
