N.J. man scams Lehigh Valley senior out of $600K in gold, $91K in cash, DA says

A New Jersey man is accused of defrauding a 74-year-old Whitehall Township man out of nearly $600,000 in gold and about $91,000 cash in a scheme involving fake bank errors, authorities said. Hirtik Hemchand Khatri, 24, of Lawrence Township, faces first-degree felony charges including theft by extortion and receiving stolen property, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P.
