Nissan Juke Tekna CVT Tops UK Car Theft Rankings in H1 2026
Tempcover said 197 Nissan Juke Tekna CVTs were stolen, 37 more than the Toyota C-HR Dynamic HEV CVT, as electric and hybrid models rose in the rankings.

- Jake Lambert, temporary insurance expert at Tempcover, explained that high-spec trims like the Juke Tekna feature keyless entry as standard, exposing them to relay attacks where thieves intercept fob signals to bypass the immobiliser.
- Electric and hybrid vehicles showed up in increased numbers in the overall top 20, marking a shift in theft patterns; for the whole of 2025, no fully electric cars were included, but four appear for 2026.
- The RAC recommends parking in a well-lit public area or secure, CCTV-covered location to reduce theft risks, and experts advise utilising a steering lock or brake lock.
- With pure EVs entering the top 20, security must keep pace with technology; owners should secure companion apps with a PIN or biometric lock, as Jake noted 'a basic password isn't enough.
