- The Federal Government gave road users two weeks to comply with safety rules on Lagos’ section of the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway or face a shutdown, Federal Controller Olufemi Dare said.
- The highway’s speed limit is 30 kilometers per hour, while motorcycles, tricycles, hawking, and animal grazing are prohibited.
- Vandals removed about five kilometers of fencing and 18 kilometers of concrete covers from the highway.
- The government plans to increase police patrols, install CCTV cameras, and recruit 40 coastal guards for Section 1.
