UCLA Quarterback Iamaleava Injured Late in the First Half Against Oregon
UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava left Saturday's game against Oregon in Eugene with a leg injury and did not start the second half.
The injury occurred when Iamaleava took a hard hit while escaping the pocket to his left, grabbing his left leg before trainers surrounded him.
Prior to his exit, Iamaleava completed 10 of 17 passes for 162 yards and threw two interceptions; Bruins senior quarterback Ty Dieffenbach replaced him in both instances.
Coach Bob Chesney initially indicated Iamaleava was okay at halftime, but CBS reporter Jenny Dell reported he was "doubtful" to return; he did not emerge for the second half.
With the Bruins leading the Ducks 10-6, Iamaleava—a former five-star recruit who transferred from Tennessee—holds a $2.1 million NIL valuation for 2026 per On3Sports.
