Nick Chubb retiring as a Brown
The four-time Pro Bowler will return for a farewell press conference and be honored at the home opener, closing out a Browns career with 6,843 rushing yards.
On Friday, Nick Chubb will return to the Cleveland Browns, signing a one-day contract to officially retire with the franchise that drafted him in 2018.
Chubb announced his retirement last month at 30 years old, following a career derailed by a severe 2023 knee injury and a final season with the Houston Texans in 2025.
A four-time Pro Bowler, Chubb retires with 6,843 rushing yards and 51 touchdowns in 85 games for Cleveland, ranking third in franchise history behind Hall of Famers Jim Brown and Leroy Kelly.
Managing Partner JW Johnson III announced Chubb will attend a press conference Friday before being honored during Sunday's home opener against the Carolina Panthers at Huntington Bank Field.
Future honors may extend beyond this week, as Haslam Sports Group officials previously expressed interest in celebrating Chubb's legacy through the organization's Ring of Honor and potential Canton induction.
