- On Monday, New York Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani named Dean Fuleihan first deputy mayor and Elle Bisgaard-Church chief of staff less than a week after his election victory.
- Mamdani campaigned on a transformative affordability agenda including free child care, free buses and city-run grocery stores, and many proposals require buy-in from state lawmakers in Albany.
- Fuleihan will oversee the Office of Management and Budget and administrative departments, having managed a city budget of more than $100 billion under former Mayor Bill de Blasio.
