While fireworks lit up the sky Wednesday night, heavily pregnant Raquel was traveling from Leiden to Zoetermeer. Between contractions, she saw fireworks everywhere along the road. The fireworks were also visible in the hospital during the birth. "There was something magical about it," she says. "We started the new year with a big smile on our faces."
