New Year holiday sees strong growth in travel, consumption
During the New Year holiday, China's domestic tourism hit 142 million trips, with total tourism spending reaching 84.8 billion yuan ($12.13 billion). Cross-regional passenger flow grew 19.62 percent, while overseas visitors surged 29.8 percent. Offshore duty-free sales in Hainan totaled 712 million yuan, up 128.9 percent on a yearly basis.
