I Got to Experience a Car that Hasn't yet Launched in the UK During a Donington Lap
Subaru used the all-electric Uncharted as World Superbike safety car, and the standard road model reached 62mph in five seconds on track.
The all-electric Subaru Uncharted made its UK dynamic debut at Donington Park, serving as the official safety car for the World Superbike Championship. This appearance provided an early look at the vehicle before its 2027 market launch.
Moving toward full electrification by the early 2030s, Subaru designed the Uncharted with a permanent Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system. Electric motors on the front and rear axles produce a combined torque of around 430Nm.
Sprinting to 62mph in five seconds, the Uncharted is 0.2 seconds faster than the WRX STi Final Edition. Notably, the vehicle remained a standard road car throughout the track test, without modifications for performance use.
During high-speed laps at Donington Park, the vehicle showed stable handling, including a controlled skid at the Redgate hairpin where speed never dropped below 50mph. Through the Craner Curves, the vehicle maintained speed, never dipping below 60mph.
Not due to officially launch in the UK until early 2027, this dynamic track event offered a rare preview. Initial signs from the performance test appear promising for the upcoming electric model.
