A new law giving property owners and law enforcement immediate authority to remove illegal occupants – often considered squatters -- from residential property will go into effect this summer.

Although the law is becoming more and more severe, illegal occupation cases have not become commonplace. And recently, it was a couple who found intruders in their home on their return from vacation.
