New provision allowing beer sales at farmers markets sees mixed reactions – Boston University News Service

A proposal is making its way through the Seimas to allow farmers who grow grain crops and have rural tourism homesteads to additionally produce two liters of homemade alcohol, the so-called naminukė, as an example, for certification purposes only. This amount of product would be used for quality research - after the Agricultural Agency evaluates the product, farmers would receive a national heritage certificate and be able to produce it.
