Weeze Airport has put a new photovoltaic system into operation, as the airport announced. The new plant is expected to generate about 4.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year and thus save 2500 tonnes of CO2 per year.
On the airport grounds in Weeze, more electricity is now produced via photovoltaics than the airport consumes. The surplus goes into the public grid.
