Romania is entering a phase in which, for the first time since accession to the EU, motorway yards are no longer grouped only on the traditional Nădlac–Sibiu–Bucuresti–Constanza corridor. The network's weight centre is moving east and north-east, via the Moldovan Highway (A7) and the Unirii Highway (A8), and in the south there is a new logistic corridor that will link Bucharest to Giurgiu and, through the radials, Alexandria.
