Security researchers from the German cybersecurity company Nextron Systems have identified a Linux backdoor that has remained unnoticed so far. The experts named it Plague. Plague is built as a malicious PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module) and allows attackers to bypass system authentication unnoticed and gain permanent SSH access, according to the researchers' blog post.
