Janusz Palikot will remain in custody for another month, a Wrocław court decided on Friday. The businessman and former MP is suspected of "causing an unfavourable disposal of the property of several thousand people for almost PLN 70 million". "The court emphasised the reality of the severe penalty and the fear of tampering," the prosecutor said.
The District Court for Wroclaw-Śródmieście has decided that the detention of Janusz Palikot will be extended for another month.
Palikot was charged with eight counts, including seven of fraud and one of misappropriation of property.
The court agreed to extend Janusz Palikot's pretrial detention by another month. The prosecutor's office justified the motion with a fear of fraud. The businessman and former MP is suspected of causing the unfavourable disposal of property of several thousand people to the amount of almost PLN 70 million.
A decision has been made on the request for extension of detention for Janusz Palikot. A court in Wrocław has decided that the former MP will remain in custody until the beginning of January next year.
