New hope emerges in fight for grocery store in Greensboro on South Elm Street

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) -- Lidl backed out of plans to build a grocery store at the corner of South Elm Street and East Gate City Boulevard two years ago, and now, there’s new hope. The Alexander Company has a proposal to construct a mixed income development at that site which could eventually attract a grocer.
