Cruz, Duffy Give Remarks on Boosting Aviation Safety
ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, JUL 29 – The $31.5 billion bill aims to modernize air traffic control and improve aviation safety after a midair collision caused 67 fatalities, officials said.
- On Tuesday at 11:30 a.m., Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Ted Cruz announced new aviation safety legislation following January's deadly midair collision near DCA.
- The deadly midair collision over the Potomac River involved an Army Black Hawk helicopter and Flight 5342, leading to multiple fatalities and wreckage in the river.
