Never Touch them... Beware of the Poisonous Pink Eggs! They Contain Neurotoxins and Have Been Spotted in Rice Paddies in Northern Okinawa

[Northern Japan] Bright pink eggs of the giant apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata, family Malvaceae), which are believed to have been brought to the country for food purposes around 1981, were spotted on grown green rice plants in rice paddies and wetlands in the north of the country, including Kin Town, Onna Village, Nago City, Ogimi Village, and Kunigami Village, on the 14th.
