Several non-governmental organizations, headed by Coffee Watch, have filed a formal complaint against Nestlé, Starbucks and Neumann Kaffee Gruppe with the German Federal Office for Economics and Export Control last Thursday. The complaint accuses these multinationals of violating fundamental human rights in their coffee supply chains, specifically in plantations in Brazil, Mexico, China and Uganda.
Several organisations have filed complaints against large coffee providers in Germany for child labour and exploitation - the companies reject the allegations.
