On the 90th anniversary of the Montreux Straits Convention, members of the Association for the Defense of the Republic of Turkey (ADD) gathered at Paşabahçe Pier and sent the message, "The Straits are ours." Opposing the Istanbul Canal and the planned NATO base in Anadolu Kavağı, the association representatives stated, "Defending Montreux means defending the Republic."
