Evenflo Recalls Popular Car Seats, Advises Caution in Rear-Facing Mode
The recall involves 74,710 All4One seats from 2022–2024 due to rear-facing recline shift risks that may cause finger injuries during crashes, Evenflo said.
- On Jan. 8, 2025, Evenflo announced a voluntary recall of about 74,710 All4One 4-in-1 convertible car seats sold in the United States and Canada.
- Evenflo said testing showed that when the seat is used rear-facing, it may shift recline positions, increasing injury risk and causing non-compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 213, the NHTSA said.
- Consumers should check the model number and manufacture date label and register or call Evenflo customer service at 800-233-5921; to reduce risk, they can fold a small towel inside the recline mechanism as Evenflo said no injuries have been reported.
- Owners will receive free replacement car seats of a different design, with owner notification letters starting Jan. 26; recalled seats should not be returned and may be used in the interim.
- Model-Level data show the recall covers Aries model 39312408, DLX Kingsley model 39312441, and Ophelia model 39312409, manufactured Jan. 1, 2022 to Oct. 31, 2023, with recalled models no longer made or sold.
