Nearly 500 top companies named for underpaying workers and fined £10.2million

Nearly 500 UK companies were fined a total of £10.2 million for underpaying around 42,000 workers, with EG Group responsible for the largest underpayment of over £824,000.

  • According to the government's latest investigations, Euro Garages, known as EG Group, topped the list by short-changing 3,317 of its workers by more than £824,000.
  • The Department for Business and Trade released a list of nearly 500 employers fined more than £10m for failing to pay the national minimum wage, with 42,000 workers repaid more than £6m.
