- On August 15, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency operatives arrested 101-year-old Esther Ogunmabo in Ilisan, Ogun State, with 90 grammes of skunk after she allegedly retailed cannabis following a fire that destroyed her provisions shop.
- Ogunmabo reportedly told investigators her daughter in Lagos supplied the cannabis every four days for resale; NDLEA Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa directed that she be granted bail and placed on counselling due to her advanced age.
- On Friday, August 21, operatives in Akwa Ibom State intercepted a wooden boat on the high seas, recovering 42.622kg of narcotics; one suspect was allegedly found with 20 grammes of cocaine concealed inside a large wrap of edible cassava fufu.
- The agency also intercepted 1,090.5kg of Thai Loud at Apapa Port and 400kg at Lekki Deep Sea Port on August 21, marking the first recorded interception of illicit drugs shipped from Thailand through maritime corridors.
- Separately, NDLEA operatives intercepted 24,410 tramadol capsules on Saturday, August 22, in the Federal Capital Territory, arresting 28-year-old Sunday Eze in Niger State as the agency continues War Against Drug Abuse campaigns nationwide.
