N.C. food bank warns of unmet demand after SNAP, Medicaid cuts
The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina says it won’t be able to meet rising demand as federal SNAP and Medicaid cuts take effect. Already facing reduced government funding and surging food insecurity, the nonprofit expects to distribute 20% less food this year — despite serving 150,000 more people than two years ago.
