Invest 95L Off the East Coast Likely Strikes the Start of a Busy Atlantic Phase
OFF THE SOUTHEASTERN ATLANTIC COAST NEAR THE CAROLINAS, UNITED STATES, AUG 2 – The disturbance has a 30% chance to develop into Tropical Storm Dexter as it moves slowly east-northeast, with conditions becoming less favorable after early next week.
- The National Hurricane Center on Saturday began monitoring an area of low pressure off the southeastern Atlantic coast near the Carolinas with a 30% chance of development within seven days.
- During the hurricane season from June 1 to Nov. 30, the NHC monitors a potential disturbance off the Carolina coast with a 30% chance of development.
- According to the National Hurricane Center, the disturbance has a chance of development over the next 48 hours and within seven days.
- Forecasters expect only scattered showers along the Outer Banks, with minimal impacts, as Aaron Swiggett said it is not expected to bring tropical impacts to North Carolina.
- With the onset of August, forecasters note that the next name on the 2025 storm list is Dexter.
