Russia and the United States continue to cooperate in space: The operation of the International Space Station (ISS) is to be extended until 2028. The head of the Russian space agency Roscosmos and his counterpart from the US space agency NASA reached this agreement on Thursday. "The dialogue went well. We agreed that we will operate the ISS until 2028," said Roscosmos head Dmitry Bakanov, according to the state news agency Tass.
The heads of the Russian and American space agencies held their first face-to-face talks since 2018. The ISS has been in orbit since November 20, 1998, and is one of the few areas in which Russia and the West still cooperate.
