North Korea’s market grain prices have recently surged to all-time highs after remaining relatively stable since December, increasing the financial burden on ordinary North Koreans. This is an increase of 80% and 33%, respectively, compared to March 2024. The average salary in Kim Jong-un's country is enough to buy just over a kilogram of grain. Prices and wages in this Asian country are set from above by the regime.
