A mysterious beam of light in the southern sky that was visible across several places in Bengal, including New Town, on Thursday evening-between 5.45pm and 5.50pm-led to intense speculation over the unidentified flying object. The sighting was also reported from Namkhana and Ghatal and a couple of aircraft flying over Diamond Harbour also reported it.
