61-year-old teacher Božena Mariaková, who was murdered by a 13-year-old student at an elementary school in Staškov, was bid farewell with state honors on Tuesday, October 6. Her coffin was covered with the Slovak national flag and accompanied by an honor guard. Family, colleagues, students, and state representatives paid their respects to the teacher who lost her life while protecting her student Nela.
