The president of the Eurométropole, Pia Imbs, will not stand in the municipal elections in March 2026. With its centrist and eco-compatible positioning, it had allowed the Ecologists to build a majority coalition at the assembly of the 33 municipalities of Strasbourg.
After nine months of the next municipal elections, the President of the Eurométropole de Strasbourg and Mayor of Holtzheim announced that she would not be a candidate for her re-election in her village, and therefore for the presidency of the metropolis. If she remains "fully invested" until 26 March 2026, Pia Imbs will leave with a sense of duty.
