- On Aug 30, Adani Power Ltd announced it received a Letter of Award from MP Power Management Company Ltd for an 800 MW ultra-supercritical plant in Anuppur district, Madhya Pradesh, its fourth large order.
- With thermal power accounting for nearly 70% of generation, surging demand from industrialisation and urbanisation prompted Madhya Pradesh to seek new capacity to strengthen state power availability.
- Adani Power, the largest private thermal generator, secured a Rs 5.838 per kWh tariff under SHAKTI Policy, expecting 6,000-7,000 construction jobs and about 1,000 operational roles soon.
- The LoA immediately adds to Adani Power Ltd's string of recent wins, marking its fourth major power-supply order in 12 months and advancing its capacity expansion across India as it expects to finalise a Power Supply Agreement with the State Discom.
- The company plans to invest Rs 10,500 crore to build the plant, slated for commissioning within 54 months with coal linkage allocated under the Centre's SHAKTI Policy, reinforcing Adani Power Ltd's strategic growth.
