Mother, two children die after falling from Naldurg Fort bastion in Maharashtra

Police said the exact cause is under investigation after the fall killed Ashwini Manohar Pol and two of her three minor children.

  • On Thursday, 30-year-old Ashwini Manohar Pol and her three minor children fell from the Upli bastion at Naldurg Fort in Dharashiv, Maharashtra. The mother and two children died; one daughter remains hospitalized.
  • Spread over 105 acres, the historic Naldurg Fort features over 100 bastions, with the Upli bastion serving as the tallest point at nearly 80 feet. The height and scale of the structure contributed to the fatal outcome.

  • Police registered an accidental death report at Naldurg police station. Officials stated, "The reason behind the incident will be investigated after that," as last rites proceed today.
  • Authorities in Dharashiv continue investigating the circumstances of the fatal fall as the sole survivor, Veera, receives ongoing medical care. The investigation aims to determine what led to the tragedy.
