Mother of Henry Nowak killer could be deported
Kiran Kaur could serve less than half her sentence as ministers say foreign criminals will be deported at the first opportunity.
Kiran Kaur, the mother of murderer Vickrum Digwa, is reportedly set for early release from prison around the first anniversary of Henry Nowak's death on December 3, 2025.
Sentenced to three years at Southampton Crown Court in July, Kaur was convicted of assisting an offender by removing the 21cm ceremonial knife Digwa used to kill Nowak from the crime scene.
While appealing her sentence at the Court of Appeal on November 5, the Indian national may also be eligible for the Government's deportation scheme, though no final decision has been made.
Ministers expanded the early release scheme to prevent justice system collapse, scheduling 5,000 prisoners for release in stages over the next year, down from 6,000 after exempting rapists and serious child sex offenders.
The Home Office declined to comment on individual cases but said: "Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Henry Nowak, whose life was cruelly cut short in a horrific act of violence.
