Morrisons launches new aisle in-store in partnership with popular retail brand
The aisle sells paint, tools and household essentials as Morrisons plans more than 20 additional locations in 2026, The Grocer reported.
- Morrisons launched a new DIY aisle in its Speke, Liverpool store last week, featuring Wilko products including paint, decorating tools, and household essentials.
- This initiative follows the closure of in-store amenities like cafes and fresh food counters. Rami Baitieh, Morrisons' chief executive, said the changes are a "necessary part of our plans to renew and reinvigorate" the chain.
- A Morrisons spokesperson confirmed the Speke opening marks the start of an exciting partnership, with plans to expand to more than 20 additional locations later this year, according to The Grocer.
- Other store improvements include updating a "significant proportion" of tills to be "more efficient" and making accessible toilets stoma-friendly, aimed at providing "excellent levels of service" to shoppers.
- Morrisons is also trialling pay-to-use ATMs at select Daily convenience sites, marking another operational shift as the supermarket adapts its store offerings throughout 2026.
